As World Landscape Architecture Month (WLAM) draws to a close, it’s the perfect time to reflect on the unique character and identity of our landscape architecture studio. At Browning Day, we’re not just designers; we’re creators, innovators, and passionate individuals dedicated to shaping environments which inspire and enrich communities.

Our landscape architecture studio is a diverse tapestry of skills and interests, each member contributing a unique perspective to our projects. From crafting custom action figures to brewing their own beer, our team’s talents extend far beyond the traditional realms of landscape design. We have members with a keen eye for home aesthetics, others who excel in AI exploration, and some who are avid community volunteers. These diverse passions converge to form a dynamic team capable of tackling any challenge with creativity and innovation.

Collaboration + Culture:

Collaboration lies at the heart of our studio. Through regular meetings and team lunches, we foster a culture of open communication and idea exchange, enriching our projects with diverse perspectives and insights. Our longstanding relationships with clients, such as the Town of Cumberland, bear testament to the positive impact of our collaborative approach. Their feedback reflects not only the quality of our designs but also the meaningful relationships we cultivate throughout the design process.

“Browning Day was innovative in their community outreach and worked within our budget. They began the project with intent knowing the plan could come alive and be implemented. It was a realistic plan. Not just beautiful pictures to sit on a shelf.”

– Christine Owens, Director of Planning + Development, Town of Cumberland

Notable Achievements and Milestones:

In the past year, our team has celebrated several milestones, from project completions to team anniversaries. The completion of the Indianapolis Zoo entry plaza and the Fishers Arts and Municipal Complex exemplify our commitment to creating spaces that inspire and delight. Our team’s longevity, with four members celebrating a decade or more with the firm, speaks volumes about our dedication to the work that we do.

Staying Ahead with Sustainability:

Sustainability is a guiding principle woven into every aspect of our designs. From inception to execution, we prioritize environmentally friendly practices, ensuring our projects not only enhance landscapes but also preserve and protect them for future generations. By integrating sustainable solutions seamlessly into our designs, we not only stay ahead of the curve but also contribute positively to the environment and communities we serve.

Looking Ahead:

As we look to the future, our aspirations are twofold: to continue fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation within our team and to embark on exciting new projects that push the boundaries of landscape architecture. With the groundbreaking of the Fishers White River Park Phase 1 on the horizon, we’re eager to continue making a positive impact on the communities we serve.

World Landscape Architecture Month serves as a reminder of the transformative power of landscape architecture and the collective efforts of professionals worldwide. It’s a celebration of creativity, sustainability, and community-building—a time to showcase our achievements and inspire others to join us in shaping a better tomorrow. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our team, clients, and collaborators for their unwavering support and dedication. Together, we’ll continue to push the boundaries of landscape architecture, creating spaces that not only reflect our passion and expertise but also leave a lasting impact on the world around us.
